The 3 Secrets of the Favored (Part One)

We all know know that one person who seems to be fortunate to prosper anything that they touch; be it relationships or wealth. Or we all know that one person who seems to be very lucky in anything they do. But what if I tell you right now that that's not merely an accident? What if it was never a fluke to be at the right place at the right time when an opportunity comes? Apparently, there are some people in this world who figured out how to be the favoured one.

I know a lot of people who were so good at school and in fact graduated with honors but landed an average job, earning a little and not maximizing their potentials. Whereas some of the people I know who didn’t do good in school are earning twice as much as ten average people combined. In fact, what some highly educated people can achieve in ten years, these people who were not very intelligent at school can establish in three short years. Fluke? Luck? As unbelievable as it can be, there is a pattern.

Regardless of your talent, educational background, or what kind of family you came from; all self-made millionaires, (be it in corporate or entertainmet industry,) have some things in common. They all possess these three things before luck or fortune or whatever you may want to call it rewarded them.

1.   Loyalty. If money and opportunity control your loyalty, then let me guarantee you that the fortune will never favour you. If it’s easy for you to just forget about your dreams for a high paying salary, then this method is not for you.

First of all, there is a reason why you have a particular dream in your heart. Secondly, your talents, dreams, and passion are actually the clues of your very purpose. These are hints of what you are designed to do all your life.

Some people may laugh at you. People would mock you and criticize you for having this big dream that only you can understand. Regardless of what people are telling you, stay loyal to your dreams. And don’t even try to make them understand because it’s you who have this dream. Your passion was written in your heart. And each person has their own. Don’t be discouraged when someone laughs at you for pursuing your passion. In fact, feel sorry for them for they may never had the courage to do the same.

Do you know that the multi-billionaire Oprah Winfrey has once fired from her first hosting job because according to the producer, she is unfit for television? Or one of the most creative men in the history, Walt Disney. He has been kicked off from his job because according to his editor he ‘lacks the creativity and imagination?’ Imagine if he stopped and got discouraged at that time? (What would my daughter watch today?)

I understand that responsibilities, monthly bills are consistent and it just won’t stop. You might be stuck on doing the job that covers your dues but a good time management can do the trick. Maybe you can spend 20 minutes a day doing your passion.

I know it is easier than done. But if you keep on working just for the heck of paying your bills, then trust me, that’s the only thing that you would have ever done all your life: paying the bills. But isn’t that sad? Waking up each day and working to pay the bills? That sounds exhausting! How many people out there had their major heartaches and breakthrough when they followed their passion?

One of the richest women today had once been fired from her job because she was writing stories on her computer all day long. She has a regular job at a good office but got fired because of writing stories on her office desk. Being jobless, divorced and having one dependent was not easy. Imagine how hard it is being loyal to your passion when you’re alone supporting your child. And after finishing her novel, it was turned down by 12 major publishers. Imagine how discouraging it could be. But thanks to the woman I am talking about, she never gave up and she remains loyal to her dream. She has sold 500 million of Harry Potter book series worldwide; it has become a blockbuster movies; making her one of the most famous author and richest woman in the world today.

I’m sure you’ve heard of a man who once tried to go to law school but got rejected. He ran in legislature and got failed, put up a business and then failed again. Suffered for 6 months due to nervous breakdown, lost eight elections after that, until finally, being elected as a President of United States. I’m talking about one of the greatest man in the history, Abraham Lincoln.

If you want an easy path, then stick with the rest of people and survive each day. But if you want a major breakthrough, then stick with your passion. It’s not going to be easy but the result is phenomenal. You won’t just survive but you’ll have a life worth living.

There shall really be no excuse for not being loyal to your passion. Maybe you think you are young, or you may think that you are too old; just remember that Mark Zuckerberg (cofounder of Facebook) is a muti-billionaire at age of 32 while Colonel Harland Sanders has sold KFC recipe at 65. Not your age, your past or your financial status shall stop you from being loyal to your passion. Now if these things still not enough to motivate you because you don’t believe in yourself; then how about The One who has put that dreams in your heart? You are singular, distinct, and in perfect design to serve your purpose in a way that nobody else can.

Do not let this year, or this month or today just pass you by again. Forget the time you’ve wasted and the years that were lost. It’s time to be loyal to your passion and chase that big dream you’ve always had. It’s about time to turn it all around. Stop wasting your time. Make the best out of life you have left and start today.
